At 5:26 PM on May 31, the 1×65MW ultra-high temperature ultra-high pressure (UHTP) reheat gas power generation project at Tangshan Songting Steel achieved two major breakthroughs: the turbine's first rotation test and the first successful grid connection, both completed in one attempt. These milestones, reached approximately 50 days ahead of schedule, significantly accelerated the project timeline and demonstrate MCC Huatian's efficient construction management and engineering capabilities. They also provide a solid foundation for subsequent 72+24 hour full-load trial operation and official power generation.
The project includes a 220t/h UHTP reheat gas-fired boiler, a 65MW UHTP reheat condensing steam turbine, and a 70MW generator system. Once operational, it will generate approximately 514 million kWh of additional electricity annually, equivalent to saving over 155,300 tons of standard coal per year, delivering significant emission reduction benefits and contributing to regional energy structure optimization.
Achieving these core milestones was made possible by the unwavering efforts of the project team. Facing tight schedules, complex construction processes, and extensive cross-discipline work, the team remained focused, strictly adhered to safety and quality requirements, optimized construction plans, and efficiently resolved challenges. In parallel, the team responded to the company's initiatives on party leadership and integrity, ensuring clean practices. Throughout the critical phase, technical personnel maintained precise control over speed, temperature, and pressure, while electrical, thermal, and protection systems operated stably. Ultimately, the project successfully synchronized with the grid and is now ready to supply external power.
